« November 2004 | Main | January 2005 » December 30, 2004Danielle in DecemberI found another set of shots we meant to put up but, for some reason we didn't. She looks like a little girl in these photos. My favorite is the one with her sticking her tongue out. By the way, who thinks she looks like BOO in Monsters INC. with the pigtails? We also have pictures from Christmas that I have yet to put together in an album. Hopefully, I can get to those before the new year. She has been a special JOY for us this year. We have been very lucky and blessed by her presence. Thank you again to everyone who has supported us throughout this year and the time leading up to her entry into our lives. Again, have a safe and happy New Years. Posted by John at 08:38 PM | Comments (1) Danielle with Santa Claus
Danielle's first time meeting the BIG MAN. She was very tired, but she was such a good trooper. We were getting some last minute things at the mall and had wanted to get a picture with Big Red. We had a good Christmas, mostly. Danielle got a bazillion toys, and more clothes. She just adored the christmas tree lights. Of course, it looked like Santa threw up in our front yard. I outdid myself. Too much stuff. The circuit breaker must have blown about eight times before I found the right configuration. Danielle got so excited looking at the lights on the house. She is saying some one-word sentences. Her favorite after kitty is papa. Don't get excited. She doesn't mean either one of us. My dad has been sayiing "papa" and clucking his tongue at her since she was born. She actually looks at my dad and says "papa." Makes me sick. Still waiting on Daddy. I am not sure, but I think she refers to me as gaga. Maybe just wishful thinking. She recently has started pulling herself up to standing to the great horror of us all. Why does she have to grow up so quickly? Well, Christmas was going fine until either my dad or Danielle brought the stomach flu into the house. We all succumbed, one by one. It was horrible. So, this rates as a bittersweet Christmas. It was great with Danielle, but I could have done withot the sudden evacuation of fluid in my body, two exits, no waiting experience. I hope that everyone had a wonderful and healthy Christmas. I also hope that you all have a safe New Years as well. We got so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays and just have not had time. Danielle has somehow found plenty of time to continue growing up, she is SO grounded. She still has just the 1 tooth partially poking through her little gums. Over the last few days, she has learned that her little chubby legs are strong enough to hold her up. She has begun pulling herself up on the furniture despite the obvious risk this poses to her safety and the not-so-obvious risk this poses to our health and sanity. There is a constant "doidi-doidi-doidi-do" coming out of her and she seems to think she is much too big for the bottle. She only want grown up food, oh yeah, and she wants it now. This obviously hasn't slowed her growth any as evidenced by her chubby cheeks. She has recently discovered the Christmas tree AND all the gifts under it. She seems to think they are all hers and has wasted no time helping herself to them. Of course, they're not! No, really, they aren't. There's one that's mine and there's one that John's (it's very small). Danielle continues to enthrall and delight us and makes it extremely difficult for us to go to work in the morning. Thankfully, we are both off next week and get to spend it with her:) We have been chomping at the bit to post these pictures. Now that all (or at least most) of the greeting cards have been sent out to friends and family, we thought it would be safe to post them here. There are only a handful but they are beautiful. By the way, if you haven't received yours yet, give us a shout and we'll make sure they make it your way. I know we're a little biased but, isn't she just the most beautiful baby in the world??? We think so :) As this amazing year comes to an end, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year. Love and hugs to all. Posted by Ken at 10:08 PM | Comments (2) December 07, 2004Tahoe tripThis weekend was Danielle's first trip to the snow country and she had a blast! The weather was beautiful which made for an easy drive. Skies were sunny but it was a tad on the chilly side, overall, a great weekend. Although she was on her best behavior, she did manage to get herself grounded for growing up too quickly and being too darn cute! She was actually flirting with all the guys she came in contact with! She just hit the 10 month mark and the changes are coming at us a mile-a-minute. She is now speed-crawling, pulling herself up on anything she can grab hold of. She plays peekaboo, claps her hands, points at everything (very cute) and fakes a cough to make fun of Daddy John, "Danielle, how does Daddy cough?". Her vocabulary consists of "kitty", "hiiii", "bye-bye", "ho-ho-ho", "papa", "mama" and best of all, "DA-EEEEE". Click on her picture to see the photos! Enjoy! She looked like a little girl. Where did the baby go? So, with a little nostalgia, I am posting some of my favorite black and white photos of when she was a newborn. Click on the picture above to access the little gallery. John Posted by John at 07:11 PM | Comments (4) |
Our little family is comprised of John, Ken and Danielle. John is a psychologist working for the State of California. Ken works as a Unix System Admin for a local Chipmaker. We have been together since 1997. We became Dads in February of 2004 when we were blessed with beautiful Danielle. We are so thankful to be a part of all this and realize how lucky we are. Danielle was born in February 2004 and has been delighting and wrapping us around her tiny little fingers since the day she was born. Thanks for visiting our page and come again!
